I am proud the First Lady is representing the United States for this historic occasion.
Dr Jill attended the royal event with one of her granddaughters, Finnegan Biden, 24. “It was so meaningful to me that I could bring Finnegan here, that we could travel together and experience this together and it’s meant a lot to both of us,” she said. She and her granddaughter sat down for some afternoon tea together after the service at Westminster Abbey.
Jill Biden arrived wearing a vibrant blue Ralph Lauren two-piece suit set. Her ensemble featured a chic crossover neckline top coupled with a pencil skirt. She elevated the look with suede gloves, a nude clutch, and matching pumps.
Finnegan Biden chose a subtle look, opting for a pastel yellow Markarian midi dress. She complemented the dress with matching heels, a small clutch, and a Gigi Burris floral appliqué headband.
Support for Ukraine
Many people believed the fashion choice of grandmother-granddaughter duo, the blue and yellow outfits, at the coronation were a potential tribute to Ukraine by wearing the nation’s flag’s colors. They were also sat next to Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska during the coronation service.
The first lady also voiced her support for Ukraine one day before the royal event, when she shared a picture of herself posing with the Princess of Wales and the Ukrainian first lady.
“Lovely to see @FLOTUS and @ZelenskaUA this evening,” the official account of the Prince and Princess of Wales tweeted on 5 May. In response, Jill Biden said: “We stand with Ukraine”.
